About the Role

We’re looking for a Data Center General Manager to lead critical facility operations across the Midwest. The role starts with a data center in Missouri. As operations grow, you’ll take responsibility for additional U.S. locations.

You’ll oversee daily performance, lead site managers, and keep essential systems running safely. You’ll also work with vendors, utility providers, and engineering teams to support new capacity.

This is a senior leadership role with broad responsibility. It suits someone with experience managing large data centers who is ready to lead operations across an entire region.

Key Responsibilities

Data Center Operations

  • Manage daily operations at the Missouri facility and future regional sites.
  • Keep critical infrastructure running safely and reliably.
  • Meet uptime targets and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Oversee power distribution, cooling, and environmental systems.
  • Track site performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work with engineering teams to plan capacity and equipment upgrades.

Team Leadership and Growth

  • Hire, train, and lead data center managers and operations staff.
  • Build teams that can support multiple facilities.
  • Set clear goals and hold teams accountable for results.
  • Create consistent procedures for daily operations and emergency response.
  • Support staff development and long-term workforce planning.
  • Maintain high standards for workplace safety.

Reliability and Vendor Management

  • Lead the response to outages and other critical incidents.
  • Investigate failures and address their root causes.
  • Work with utility companies, contractors, and equipment suppliers.
  • Ensure sites meet safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with networking, hardware, and infrastructure teams.
  • Help prepare new facilities for launch and ongoing operations.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Leadership and Operations Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in data center operations or another mission-critical environment.
  • Experience leading data center managers and technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, cooling, and facility controls.
  • A proven record of keeping large facilities running reliably.
  • Experience managing vendors, utilities, and service providers.
  • Strong skills in incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to make decisions independently and manage competing priorities.

Preferred Technical Skills

Experience in the following areas would be helpful:

  • Hyperscale operations: Managing large data centers with demanding uptime requirements.
  • Regional management: Leading teams across multiple facilities or locations.
  • Server hardware: Understanding rack systems, equipment installation, and maintenance.
  • Linux and networking: Familiarity with Linux, DHCP, DNS, and basic network operations.
  • Monitoring tools: Using dashboards, alerts, and performance reports to track system health.
  • Data center expansion: Supporting new site construction, equipment installation, or facility launches.

Work Environment and Leadership Scope

These facilities support AI and high-performance computing workloads. As a result, reliable power, cooling, and infrastructure are essential.

You’ll lead an established site while helping prepare the region for growth. The position requires both day-to-day operational judgment and long-term planning.

What to Expect

  • Regional responsibility: Begin with one Missouri facility and expand into additional locations.
  • Hands-on leadership: Stay involved in major incidents, staffing decisions, and site performance.
  • Technical collaboration: Work closely with engineering, networking, and hardware teams.
  • Vendor relationships: Coordinate with external partners to keep facilities operating smoothly.
  • Operational improvement: Develop clear procedures that teams can follow across every site.
